About Me

Portrait of Adrian Kalvis

I'm Adrian, a developer from Latvia with 3 years of programming experience. I'm currently pursuing a Programming Technician qualification at Vidzeme Technology and Design Vocational School (VTDT).

I rarely run out of ideas. What I enjoy most is choosing one, opening my editor and making it real. Frontend is my favourite part, especially CSS, animation and the small visual details that give a page its character. I like working quickly, and I want the websites I build to feel quick too.

I've been interested in robotics from a young age, and that curiosity still shapes how I explore technology today. Away from programming, I enjoy creative work through CAD and PCB design, electronics, CNC machining and 3D printing, alongside video editing and graphic design. These interests give me different ways to think about design, detail and problem-solving.

I made this small browser game for school visits, giving students their first look at programming through something they could play.

Most of the students had never programmed before.
Approach
I paired a simple game with programming examples I could explain in person.
Outcome
I presented it to students in Līgatne, Gulbene and Madona.
